Level 2 Requirements

To qualify, you must complete the following:

Requirement Date Approved
1. Complete any items of the Level 1 sheet which you haven't done. (Locate all the objects in each of the requirements.)

2. Do one of the following Treasure Hunts:

Note: these are not available online yet, but they can be obtained from the group leader.

3. Find and observe 10 Messier objects (with binoculars or telescope)

4. Do 1 of the following:
  • Watch at least 3 Cosmos, Nova, or other astronomy documentary tapes. (Must be approved in advance by leader.)
  • Read at least 1 age-appropriate astronomy book. (Must be approved in advance by Leader)


5. Help with a star party or public astronomy program or school program.
